Review — Blind Attraction by Eden Summers

17725275.jpg

4 stars

Blind Attraction was a well written book. While I am not a huge fan of rock star romances, or books involving famous people in general, this book was actually really good! The main and secondary characters were well developed and kept you intrigued.

I enjoyed learning about Alana and about how her upbringing was. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendship her and Kate had. I adored how Kate brought out the more adventurous side in her.

I can’t take a single breath without wishing I was touching you.

Mitch and most of the other band mates weren’t your typical rock stars. I enjoyed seeing the caring side of him, even if parts of the story wasn’t quite as believable as I would have liked.

Mitch and Alana’s chemistry started out as a slow simmer, which was sweet. I’m glad he respected her and how her past was. But at the same time, everything seemed to happen in this whirlwind of 48 hours. It was a crazy time vortex.

I want to take my time. I want to taste you, savor you, and have you fall asleep in my arms.

I was given an arc audio copy of this book, and I must admit this wasn’t my most favorite audio I’ve ever listened to. The female narrator was fine, but she took some getting use to. It took me a little bit longer to get use to the male narrator. I think maybe he just didn’t fit the character to me….I’m not sure. By the end, it was fine and I didn’t think anything of it, but the beginning was a bit of a struggle.

Review — Checkmate: This is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox

checkmate_6_This is Dangerous.jpg

5 stars

This is Dangerous was my first Kennedy Fox book, and I was so excited to read it! I’ve been a fan and have wanted to read their work for awhile now. I devoured the pages. I sat down and next thing I knew I was more than half done. I couldn’t get enough of Logan and Kayla, or the other characters. I, now, want to go back and read the other Checkmate books, so I can get their backstory!

Is it possible two people with broken pasts can feel whole again together?

Kayla was so inspirational. All of the volunteer work she did was beyond humbling. I also loved her pups. I wanted to crawl into the pages and cuddle them [and lets be honest… I wanted to cuddle Logan too ;)]. Kayla’s disastrous first dates were hilarious and I loved seeing Logan coming to her rescue.

Sometimes you have to make the bad choices to figure out what the right choices are.

Logan, swoon-worthy Logan. What can be said about him? He’s the true alpha male. He has a somewhat mysterious past and secrets he doesn’t want anyone to know.

Logan and Kayla’s spark was electric. They sizzled the pages like you wouldn’t believe. They have real chemistry.

When you find a girl who makes you feel normal and wanted again, you grab on tight and you don’t let go.

What a cliffhanger. I need the next book now. September is just too far away. I feel like an addict, rocking back and forth in the corner, waiting for my next Kennedy Fox fix!

Review — Tied by Carian Cole

Tied Ebook Cover

5 stars

This book was a highly anticipated read for me! I loved Tor’s story, and I knew Tyler’s would be no different. The little glimpses I seen of him in Torn intrigued me. I was not disappointed. This book exceeded all expectations. It took my emotions, put them in a bag, shook it up, and threw them back out – beaten and battered.

You make me feel a little bit less messed up, and you make me want to be less messed up.

Tyler is a broken and damaged man, who hides in the woods and rescues animals. He is in self-exile from his family from past mistakes and doesn’t find himself worthy of the love of his family and friends.

All I see when I look at him are eyes the color of a sky I ached to see but was kept hidden from me for ten years.

Holly broke my heart the more I read her story. The trauma she endured for ten years was something no child should ever have to go through. Watching her come out on the other side was awe-inspiring and something sweet.

I have no idea what love is suppose to be like, but I can’t imagine it can be any better than what we have right here.

Watching Tyler and Holly break out of their shells as they mend their fractured pieces was beautiful. The trust she put in him was miraculous and helped heal his wounds.

I can’t recommend this series enough. I am jonesing for Tanner’s story. Carian Cole completely hit this book out of the park!

She’s everything. My past. My present. My future. My twin flame — the one who shares the path of my soul.

Review — Torn by Carian Cole

5 stars

One forbidden touch, one taboo kiss, and we destroyed who we were.

I absolutely devoured this book. I can’t say how much I loved this book. The main characters — Toren [Tor] and Kenzie were so awesome. The secondary characters were so lovable as well. I adored everything about this book.

I’m just waiting for the one that makes me feel like forever wouldn’t be long enough.

Kenzie was probably my favorite character. I loved her personality and spunk. The love she has for others and animals was beyond precious. Despite her upbringing, she wasn’t this spoiled girl.

I want crazy fucking love. I want someone that’ll never let me go. I want to wake up to my best friend every day.

Toren, oh dear Toren. What can I say about him? He’s tough on the outside, but sweet and caring on the inside. His love of family and his plight for the animal rescue made my heart giddy! I need my own Tor!

I want you to be my first. I want you to be my last. I want you to be all the in-betweens. I want you. Just you. Only you.

Tor and Kenzie’s relationship was something else. At first I wasn’t quite sure what to feel with it to be honest. But as I devoured the pages, I began to understand more and more. The connection they have was something remarkable and soul searing. It’s something some only ever hope to get.

I can’t recommend this book enough. I’m very anxious to read more about the men of Devil’s Wolves and the ladies they fall for. Well done, Carian Cole, well done. Now I’m off to devour the rest of your words!

All that matters is you are my forever. You always have been. You always will be.

Release Blitz + Review — Pure Hearts by Jeannine Allison

Title: Pure Hearts
Author: Jeannine Allison
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 22, 2017
She gave me her kidney. I gave her my heart…
Nicholas Blake learned a long time ago that nobody does anything for free. He’s felt the pain of lies and manipulations enough times to know that people only look out for themselves, and that all good deeds come with a price. So when he wakes up from a near deadly car accident and finds out a stranger is offering to donate her kidney, he’s immediately suspicious of her intentions.
What he doesn’t expect is Iris Chamberlain, a beautiful woman with a big smile and an even bigger heart, claiming she just wants to help. The more time Nick spends with Iris, the more he starts to believe in what he always thought was impossible: a pure heart.

But betrayal leaves a bitter mark. Will Nick be able to let go of his past and let Iris in? And will Iris be able to show him what it truly means to have a pure heart?

United Indie Book Blog – “This is a beautiful, raw and emotional story.”

Bad and Dirty Books – “Pure Hearts has heart, intention but most of all a story to tell. A story I’m grateful I got to experience.”

Becca (Goodreads Review) – “This book is perfection. I have nothing to say. Hurry up and read it as soon as it’s released! You don’t want to miss it out.”

Jeannine Allison is an author of contemporary and New Adult romance. After waffling between many degrees in college, she finally graduated with a BA in English Literature from Arizona State University.
She loves writing and reading — obviously 🙂 — but when she’s not she enjoys playing with her two dogs, obsessing over new makeup, drinking coffee, googling new tattoos, and pretty much anything else that allows her to wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt 😉
She is a big fan of being exactly who you are. Her favorite stories to write are about characters finding and loving who they are.

review
“Her kisses tasted like sunshine, and her hugs felt like home.”
Pure Hearts was a beautiful and heart warming story full of raw emotion.
Iris was so sweet and always saw the good in everyone. Nick had some trust issues, but it was beautiful watching him learn to trust again.
I can’t recommend this book enough. It was my first Jeannine Allison book, but it definitely won’t be my last!

Review — Fueled by K Bromberg

Fueled-Cover

5 stars

Together we are so intense, so volatile, so powerful, so intimate.

Fueled picked up right where Driven left off. This book takes you on a crazy roller coaster ride of emotions. It will give you the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I felt completely drained at different times while listening to this book. K Bromberg definitely has a way with words and with conveying the emotions of the characters.

I’ve never had to work so hard for something I never thought I wanted.

We learned more about Colton’s past and it completely gutted me. The pain he endured was repulsive. The nightmares he is still tormented with, is something no one should have to experience. Knowing what he’s gone through, it’s no wonder he feels he’s damaged.

Please be my spark, Ry.

Rylee has grown as a character in this book. The only slight problem I had with her was some of the games she decided to play. It drove me a little bit crazy. I am glad she did seem to be getting over Max though and was moving on. It was time.

Time stands still and it feels like we’re the only two people in the world. Just a damaged boy and a selfless girl.

The chemistry between Colton and Rylee was completely off the charts. They were explosive together. I adore how much Colton needs Rylee, whether he admits it or not. Prepare yourself for an epic cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. K Bromberg is an evil genius, lemme just warn you! 😉 Make sure you have Crashed loaded on your kindle, so you can dive right in and lose more sleep!

We’re not broken baby…we’re just bent.
And bent’s okay. Bent means that we’re just figuring things out.

Review — Curveball by Mariah Dietz

5048f-curveball2bebook2bcover

5 stars

Curveball is a new stand alone book by Mariah Dietz. I have been looking forward to this book since I read the description. This was my first Mariah Dietz novel, but it definitely will not be my last. The character development was outstanding and I craved more of them.

When you give your heart away there’s no way to fully get it back.

Ella is a single mom to her adorable son Hayden. She was shrouded in small town gossip and catty rumors, but through it all she had her best friend, Rachel. They were inseperable and with each other through thick and thin. Rachel and Ella’s mom kept setting Ella up on dates through a dating website, that kept leading to disaster after disaster.

Life has taught me that it’s too short not to throw the occasional curveball.

Coen moves in next door to Ella’s best friend, Rachel. He ends up helping to save Hayden’s life after a horrifyingly scary allergic reaction. I’m a sucker for Firemen — whether it’s in a story, or in real life. I love ’em! So when I found out that Coen was a fireman? Yes please! Gimme! 😉 He bonded quickly with Hayden and with Ella. I absolutely loved how he interacted with Hayden and included him in everything. It was beyond touching.

Everything about you captivates me.

I had a deep dislike for Hayden’s dad Patrick. He was a major ass who worked my nerves on every single page. I was thrown for quite the curveball [heh, see what I did there? 😉 ], and my jaw dropped.

This story will leave you breathless and sad when it ends.

You need to find someone who is going to be your inspiration to keep surviving when you go to work everyday to fight the devil.

Review — Driven by K. Bromberg

Driven-NTY-USA-Amazon1

5 stars

This is our story. Our fight. Our perfectly imperfect love.

I have had Driven on my to-read list for quite some time, and just kept putting off reading it. Boy do I regret that now! I am consumed with these characters. Driven is the first book I’ve read from K Bromberg, but it most definitely won’t be my last.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Rylee is our heroine, who works with children who are in the system. The passion she had for these boys was so beyond touching. Rylee is trying to move past a major tragedy that has happened to her, when she meets Colton, she is completely taken off guard. She doesn’t want anything to do with him. But that quickly changes as he gets under her skin.

He’s the chance I’ve been looking for. To be carefree. To live in the moment. To be alive, not just living.

Colton comes with his own baggage that will tear at your heart. His past is something no child should have to endure. He remains closed off, not forming any deep or close relationships. He likes things superficial.

“You make me need Rylee,” he whispers hoarsely as he takes one more step. “And I don’t ever need anything from anybody.”

The chemistry between Colton and Rylee was something else. Make sure you have a tall glass of ice water while reading this story. I loved how Rylee kept trying to break down Colton’s barriers, regardless of how much he pushed her away.   And in this moment, I am completely and utterly his.

I know it won’t be enough. I don’t think any amount of time will be enough to love someone like Colton. He is one of those guys who consumes every part of you.

I can’t say enough good things about this story. I listened to the audio version and the narrators were spot on. They did an A+ job, and really brought the story to life! Make sure you have book 2, Fueled, handy. You won’t want to wait to dive in to continue Colton and Rylee’s story!

Review — Tough Love by Max Henry

***********************************************************
5 stars

Tough Love is a gut wrenching, heart breaking story about second chances. This was my first time reading a novel by Max Henry and I assure you that it won’t be my last. I read this in one sitting. I simpy couldn’t put it down. It tore at my heart strings and definitely had some wow moments!  The author did an amazing job of describing things in a way that you could just really connect with all these characters.

One day at a time. One tragedy at a time. One heartache at a time.

My heart broke for Amelia and all the traumatic things she had to endure. Her strength absolutely amazed me and uplifted me. Her willingness to help where needed was something special.

You only get one chance to make a memory before its lost forever.

Evan was the true hero of this story. Swooping in to save the day on more than one occasion. I loved how Evan was there for Mimi any time she asked, no questions asked. Evan and Mimi’s relationship was so sweet after they reconnected. I loved the banter back and forth.

He still hungers for me, scars and all.
I’ve never wanted someone more in my life.

I think my favorite character in the entire book was Briar. His sweet and innocent way of things was so precious. The maturity in which he handled such adult circumstances was wonderful.

He’s so pure, so undamaged by the world until now. He’s innocence, open trust, and everything I wish I could find again.

Review — Inarticulate by Eden Summers

***********************************************************
5 stars

Inarticulate was the first book I’ve read/listened to by Eden Summers. I was intrigued when I read the blurb. I really enjoyed this storyline and will definitely be reading/listening to more books by Eden Summers.

Seduced in silence…branded by betrayal.

I really enjoyed watching the character development between Savannah and Keenan. I was drawn to Keenan’s silence and wondered how it would play out in the story. How could they communicate? It was really neat seeing how it all happened. Keenan had no trouble getting his point across, even without speaking.

He’s silent, but his touch speaks louder than words.

This book was full of some twists and turns that took me by surprise. I would be driving and would repeatedly say ‘what? No! That did NOT just happen!’. I also really enjoyed the emails that Keenan would write to Savannah, it was a nice touch to see his side of different things happening throughout the story.

I wanted your body, not your words.
Your acquiescence, not your intrigue.
Most of all, I wanted you to experience
passion from my perspective.
To strip the sensations down to pure carnality.
Devoid of placating dribble and nonsensical dialogue.
